Recently, Yixin Zhao's research group from the School of Environmental Science and Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University published a research paper entitled "Green solvent enabled scalable processing of perovskite solar cells with high efficiency” in Nature Sustainability. They reported an eco-friendly solvent of γ-valerolactone (GVL) for sustainable fabrication of perovskites, which solve the challenges of toxicity, ink stability and operation window for the solution based scalable fabrication of perovskite solar modules. This work provides insights into the interaction between the GVL solvent and perovskite precursors, which would be of great help for the stability and performance enhancement of perovskites in scalable optoelectronic applications.
